*NOTE about FALL FARM ACTIVITIES in 2020*:

Out of caution for everyone's health and safety in this time of COVID-19, we're putting these activities *on hold* this year.  We just can't be doing things thart involve large groups and/or high contact.

But cheer up; remember this ! Picking your own fruit & vegetables in our orchard, berry patch, & fields, and shopping at an open-air stand, are among the safest, healthiest activities you can enjoy.  We're here for you; come see & support us !

School / Group Tours

In the fall Easy Pickin's hosts organized groups of children from around our area.  We welcome them to our farm with a wagon tour, so the kids can see the whole orchard and learn about the fruits and veggies we grow here.

The tour makes a stop in the orchard to learn how apples grow.  Our apple trees are fully-dwarfed and trained to a 4-wire trellis, so even the smallest kids can pick their own apples from our trees.  We teach the children how to pick an apple, and they can pick 3 apples to take home.  We also stop at the pumpkin patch, where each child picks out a pumpkin to take home (we grow just the right size sugar pumpkins for kids !).

After the tour, if groups want to stay for a snack break (bring your own !) or enjoy just being outdoors at an orchard and farm, we offer complimentary  juice boxes to refresh the kids.

Cost for a tour is $6.95 / person, with 1 free for every 10 paid, including both kids and adults.  We ask for a minimum of 15 people per group.

Wagon Rides

The weekend after Labor Day, the farm shifts from summer to fall -- even if the weather is still warm.  We offer FREE wagon rides SUNDAY afternoons at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm.

Make-Your-Own Scarecrow

Saturdays & Sundays after Labor Day we offer our Make-Your-Own Scarecrow activity. Rummage through the bins to find a combination of shirt & pants for your scarecrow.  Draw & color your scarecrow's face, stuff the clothes with straw, and add the straw hat.  Give your life-size scarecrow a name, and he or she will be ready to go home and join the family.  All this fun for only $15.99.

Our Annual Gourd Hunt

An Easy Pickin's tradition since 1995.  The third Sunday in October is our traditional date for this event.
2019 Gourd Hunt:    Sunday, October 20
Games & Activities 1pm / Gourd Hunt 2pm

What's a Gourd?   Gourds blong to the squash family of plants.  They grow on vines, and produce a "fruit" that is multi-colored and comes in many diferent shapes.  Gourds are used for fall decorations -- not for eating!

So what's a Gourd Hunt?
Picture an Easter Egg Hunt in the fall, with colorful gourds instead of Easter Eggs.  We hide the gourds in our orchard for the kids to find.  There are 2 "hunts," one for kids age 5 and under, and one for ages 6 to 12.  Everyone can find a gourd, and so everyone wins a prize from a choice of prize tables.  We hide 2 specially marked gourds in each "hunt" - these special gourds are winners of more valuable prizes.

The Gourd Hunt is free for kids age 12 & under, and includes free games for the kids, music, and refreshments available for sale.  All activities take place between 1pm & 3pm, with the Hunt itself at 2pm.  Plan on a fun Sunday afternoon at Easy Pickin's Annual Gourd Hunt !
